Biophelian is a RIBA Chartered, Biophilic Design initiative reconnecting people with nature across the UK and UAE.
Each experience is tailored to the client and their preferences. Our natural designs and environments are non-invasive, timeless and alive.

Dubai projects explore the meeting point between desert materiality and lush living environments. Some clients prefer the warmth of local vernacular, sand tones and desert stone. Others seek water, planting and immersive greenery. Every scheme is shaped around the client, the setting and the atmosphere they want to create.

Work across Canary Wharf has brought WELL AP and BREEAM principles into the design process, with projects including Montgomery Square, 10 Bank Street, One Canada Square and Pan Peninsula. The focus is on healthier interiors, natural connection, daylight, material quality and long-term performance.

The biophilic journey began in practice across the North West, bringing natural elements into projects in Lytham St Annes, Preston and Blackpool. BIOPHELIAN has also opened its creative workshops here, exploring resin, woodwork and upcycling as hands-on ways to reconnect materials, making and nature.

Work in Wuhan developed in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects, exploring the relationship between natural systems and advanced design technologies. The work draws on machine learning, Grasshopper and emerging computational methods alongside natural elements and organic patterning.

The Masar masterplan explores spiritual design through sacred geometry, warm lighting and natural landscape. The approach considers movement, orientation, atmosphere and the emotional qualities of materials and planting within a significant cultural setting.

We live in an era when the constructed environment has drifted so far from the biological that the two exist in opposition, cities as adversaries of nature rather than expressions of it. This is not inevitable. It is a design choice. And it can be unmade.
The intelligence embedded in biological systems is the most sophisticated engineering on earth. Roots finding water through rock. Leaves optimising for photon capture. Mycelium networks routing information between organisms separated by kilometres. We are not trying to mimic these forms. We are trying to understand their principles.
Biophelian is the practice of deep translation, from biological wisdom to architectural expression, from living system to built form, from temporary occupation to genuine belonging.

BIOPHELIAN works across the UK and UAE, with online services available for selected projects internationally.
Phase 01
Every project begins with extended inhabitation of its site. We map flows, wind, water, light, soil biology, before a single line is drawn. The site teaches us.
Phase 02
Form is generated through algorithms that encode biological growth rules. We don't draw buildings, we cultivate them from data, constraints, and ecological parameters.
Phase 03
We select and develop materials for their living qualities: how they age, breathe, accumulate meaning. Every surface is a membrane in negotiation with its environment.
Phase 04
Completion is not an endpoint. Our buildings are designed to become more alive with time, through planting cycles, weathering, community use, and seasonal transformation.
